Cha-ya Features Sachiko Yokota!

Sachiko Yokota, local ceramist will be at Cha-ya on Sunday, October 23, 2016
from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Ms. Yokota was born in Japan and has traveled all forty seven prefectures gathering
information about Japanese cultures.
She is a travel writer, having a career at the Mainichi News Paper Co. Ltd. in Japan.
Her travel books include culture and Japanese traditional and local foods.
Sachiko is a very talented ceramist who believes that the relationship and connection
between traditional foods and ceramic containers is very deep rooted in Japanese culture.
She likes to create containers for ikebana flower arrangements, lamps and vessels.
Sachiko uses low-fire, Raku, Naked Raku and pit-firing.
